Links of the Week - Motorcycle Edition

A very pretty version of the Valkyrie -

I have a lot of hope for the new version of electic motorcycle. Vectrix is a company that is starting out with very efficient scooters, but wants to move up to performance sportbikes.
Included in the concept are regenerative brakes that you throttle backwards to engage. Interesting, no?

This 3 wheeler sounds like a lot of fun...

Here is one more concept - taking a very small engine and mating it to a beefy mountain bike - you get uber - small, very nimble motorcross!

LINKS of the WEEK - STEAMPUNK edition.

Talking to my in-laws the other day about our shared love of Steampunk, I realized I had been saving a bunch of photos and links describing it. I thought I would gather them all in one place and send them a link...so fun!
I am interspersing some links with photos of some of Christopher Conte's work -

First, an introduction
A great animated movie in the style

A great gallery and article on the phenomenon

and some people mentioned in the article

one of my personal favorites - steampunk star wars

one especially for cari and bob - steampunk motorcycles

For Cari, as well - a raygun

a gallery of cool stuff

parts for the steampunk project

a (kind of slow) mechanical lion

and a related but somewhat off topic blog for cari and bob - skull a day!
